SUMMARY

The first day of winter brought me and a friend to the southern Presidentials to bag Mount Pierce and Mount Eisenhower for our New Hampshire Winter 48 list.

We started and ended at the Mount Clinton Road parking lot just beyond AMC Highland on Route 302. We hiked up Crawford Path to Mount Pierce and then continued along it to bypass Mount Eisenhower. Once we got to the east of Mount Eisenhower we put on our snowshoes as the trail was unbroken with deep snow. We summitted Mount Eisenhower from the north and then took Edmands Path down to Mount Clinton Road. Edmands Path was unbroken, with snow up to our waist in places. We followed Mount Clinton Road back to our car.
